Michael Mancuso

Mancuso, of Italian heritage, was raised in Northern Ontario where he began do draw at an early age. A graduate of the Ontario College of Art, he was handpicked to attend a campus in Florence where he received the national Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation award and the Professional Art Dealers of Canada Scholarship Awards. Schooled in the classic/realist tradition in human figures, Mancuso's move to Vancouver in 1985 brought new scope, influence and energy to his work.

What once was familiar is now transformed. With always the primitive lurking, his work is now smaller and more controlled with emphasis on the West Coast landscape and the natural. To see more of his unique interpretation of Vancouver's parks and gardens, click below to view his work.
