Stephanie Kewistep

Stephanie Kewistep grew up in Vancouver and is a member of the Yellow Quill First Nations band. She attended secretarial school but found that she had an interest and talent for art. Originally, she painted for Jimmy Joseph and then spent a number of years working with Ben Houstie. Richard Shorty belongs to the extended family and has provided artistic advice.

Stephanie brings a new dimension to authentic interpretation in her native people's work. She joins a distinguished group of women artists who are making a great contribution to the artistic legacy of their people. Stephanie's artwork has been shown in a variety of art shows and she is represented in various corporate and private art collections.
