Ellis Brayham

Brayham's watercolor paintings reflect his feelings about how we see the world around us. Whether landscape or seascape, they always feature strong design and colour as key elements.

Having lived in Vancouver since 1970, many of Brayham's watercolors reflect the BC scene and are influenced by Brayham being a keen boater and the connection he has with the richness, clarity and moods we enjoy on this coast. His paintings of pleasure boats and working boats have always had a special place and have been the feature of many commissioned works.

Brayham says his best work comes from observing the outdoors, seeing the shapes, and painting the moods, colors and light variations so often taken for granted. Equally at home with realistic or semi-abstract work, his style is best described as representational, yet expressive and colourful.
