Michael Fitzsimmons is a Canadian Artist living in Vancouver, British Columbia. He was born in Edmonton Alberta and grew up in North Vancouver. His studies include Capilano College, Alberta College of Art and Emily Carr College of Art where he graduated and was the recipient of The Helen Pitt Award. He works with a variety of industrial paint materials, mixing and creating his own paints. He focuses on colour, light and texture. His use of unique materials and techniques create interesting surfaces that invite the viewer to look closer. His abstract paintings are in several private and corporate collections. Michael is an active artist in Vancouver and North Vancouver, recently winning the Carole Badgley Award at the Seymour Art Gallery.
